As I coach an increasing number of female entrepreneurs there are 3 trends that most of them have in common. This is not only isolated to women, as many owners of the other gender have shortcomings in these areas as well, however not seemingly so prevalent. Women business owners are increasingly using the ‘oh, I’m just doing it while the kids are young’ line. It’s often a hobby they took up. They never intended to have any staff or wanted it to become successful. This ‘gets my goat’ somewhat as many of these woman have remarkable skills and talents that others envy and they direct their time and their life to serving the kids and family.

Admirable? Absolutely. But giving up your life for your kids is not noble. Please don’t look at this statement as a challenge. It’s meant to be a wake up. Your beautiful kids will be that way forever and will only be further enlightened by you ‘BEING IN ACTION’ with your successes.

A beggar sat by the side of a road for over 30 years. One day a stranger walked by. “Spare some change?” mumbled the beggar, holding out his old hat. “I have nothing to give you” said the stranger. Then he asked “what’s that you’re sitting on?”  “Nothing” replied the beggar.  “Just an old box”. “I have been sitting on it as long as I can remember.”   “Ever looked inside?” asked the stranger. “No” said the beggar.“What’s the point? There’s nothing in there” . “Have a look inside,” insisted the stranger. The beggar managed to pry open the lid. With astonishment, disbelief and elation, he saw the box was filled with gold.
